John E. Stallings worked as a professional sculptor while living in Johnstown, Pa., with his wife Cindy. While pursuing a degree in Fine Arts in Western Pennsylvania, he trained with the sculptor Frank Gilliam, who subsequently relocated to Europe to sculpt at the fabled marble quarries in Lucca, Italy. John has used most metals, including steel, aluminum, copper and bronze. He has also worked in stone, marble, clay, plaster, cement, wood and wax. John passed away

"My work is about the search for the infinite." John Stallings has, in his own words, "been sculpting most of my life." Stallings experimented with many forms of art, including painting and printmaking, but became more focused on sculpture after studying with Frank Gilliam in the mid-1970's.
